Falkland Wool
Falkland wool, my new favorite, boasts softness, versatility, and a virtually chemical-free nature. The challenging climate where the sheep thrive makes it inhospitable for insects. Although not a distinct breed, Falkland wool typically results from a blend of Corriedale, Polwarth, and Dohne Merino. Named after the Falkland Islands in the Southern Atlantic Ocean, this wool features an average staple length of 4 to 6 inches. Its excellent grip ensures easy spinning, especially for beginners.
I recommend it for next-to-skin garments, and it’s worth noting that this fiber is also suitable for felting.
All my fiber comes from a smoke-free, pet-free environment.
I do my best to get pictures from different angles to capture and show the beauty of the color combinations. Remember that your monitor may show colors differently than mine. I'm always open to questions.
The lighting for the photos makes the colors a little brighter than they do in person, so expect the colors one or two shades darker.
